This Privacy Policy (the "Policy") explains how WriteScan and its related services (collectively, the "Service") collect, use, store, and share information. By using the Service, you agree to this Policy.


Article 1 (Scope)


This Policy applies to information obtained through the Service. Supplemental notices or rules also apply where relevant.


Article 2 (Information We Obtain)


We may obtain the following categories of information when you use the Service:

  • Anonymous user identifiers, Firebase ID tokens, and other authentication-related information generated through Firebase Authentication
  • App-generated identifiers, billing status, purchase information, usage counts, scan request IDs, and other service usage records
  • Device information, OS version, app version, language settings, crash data, diagnostics, and network-related technical information
  • Verification signals used to prevent abuse, including App Check and DeviceCheck related information
  • Information you send to the Service when you scan, save, sync, purchase, or contact support
  • Notification permission status and information required to deliver notifications

    • Article 3 (Purposes of Use)


    We use the information above for the following purposes:

  • To provide, maintain, and improve the Service
  • To identify users, manage sessions, protect billing flows, and prevent abuse
  • To process scans, verify purchases, and provide requested features and support
  • To analyze failures, improve quality, and understand service usage
  • To send notifications, important notices, and support responses
  • To comply with laws and protect rights

    • Article 4 (Service Providers and Processors)


    We may use the following external services or providers:

  • Firebase Authentication, Firebase App Check, Firebase Analytics, and Firebase Crashlytics
  • RevenueCat and Apple services related to purchases and subscription validation
  • Apple iCloud / CloudKit for sync-related features
  • Hosting, notification delivery, server operations, and other service providers necessary to operate the Service

    • We may allow such providers to process information to the extent necessary for the purposes described in this Policy.


    Article 5 (Sharing with Third Parties)


    We do not disclose personal information to third parties without your consent except when permitted by law, necessary to protect life or property, necessary for public welfare, required for cooperation with public authorities, or necessary for outsourced operations under appropriate supervision.


    Article 6 (Retention and Deletion)


    We retain information only for as long as necessary for the purposes described above and may delete or anonymize it when no longer needed, subject to legal and operational requirements.


    Article 7 (Security Measures)


    We implement organizational and technical safeguards to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, destruction, or alteration.


    Article 8 (Your Rights)


    You may request access, correction, suspension of use, deletion, or other rights available under applicable law. We will respond within a reasonable scope after verifying your identity.


    Article 9 (Policy Changes)


    We may update this Policy when necessary. If a material change is made, we will provide notice through the app, website, update notice, or other reasonable means. Continued use of the Service after the change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
